Trampling the Snake
About
This book follows a wife and mother navigating a Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) diagnosis. Throughout her research and therapy sessions she finds encouragement in learning that this is an attachment disorder as a result of childhood trauma and not a genetic condition. In order to heal she needs to find the inner child buried deep inside, hold her, accept her, love her and free her from the terror of her past. Throughout the process she feels the familiar presence of the Holy Spirit guiding her back home to herself.
As she loves herself the way that she deserves to be loved, she learns to choose herself, set boundaries, and step away from relationships that no longer serve her. Healing involves ridding herself of the generational trauma in her bloodline, being vulnerable with the safe people in her life now, and finding purpose in her pain.
